What these terms are
These are the terms of use of Ownfy, the app developed by Raúl Eduardo Rivero Gómez. By using it you accept them. They are written to be read: if anything is unclear, write to hello@ownfy.app.
What Ownfy is
A tool for keeping a record of your belongings: properties, products, their warranties and their maintenance. It stores what you write down and warns you about what is expiring, nothing more.
Ownfy is not an appraisal, an insurance policy, or legal, tax or financial advice. The amounts, dates and calculations it shows come from what you enter, so they are there to keep you organised, not to serve as proof to third parties.
Your account
You sign in with Sign in with Apple, using your own Apple Account. You are responsible for keeping your device and your Apple Account secure; the app's Face ID or Touch ID lock is one more layer, not a replacement for your iPhone passcode.
You can close your account whenever you want from Settings → Account. Closing it deletes your data, as the privacy policy explains.
Your data and your backups
What you record is yours. Ownfy claims no rights over your photos or over the information you enter.
Syncing and backup are handled by iCloud, an Apple service subject to its own terms. Ownfy keeps no copies anywhere else, so if you turn iCloud off and lose your device, that data cannot be recovered. Keeping iCloud Backup enabled is advisable.
Acceptable use
Use Ownfy for what it is. In particular, do not use it to store unlawful content, and do not attempt to access other people's data, tamper with the app or circumvent iOS protections.
Availability and changes
Ownfy is updated and may change: features improve, get replaced or disappear. Every effort is made to ensure no change makes you lose data, and any change affecting how data is stored will be announced in the version's release notes.
Warranties and liability
The app is provided "as is", with no warranty that it is free of errors or available without interruption. To the extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for damages arising from use of the app, including loss of data.
This does not limit the rights the law grants you as a consumer. If you reside in the European Union, your mandatory rights remain intact regardless of anything stated here.
Intellectual property
The name, icon, design and code of Ownfy belong to Raúl Eduardo Rivero Gómez. You may use the app; you may not copy, decompile or redistribute it beyond what the standard App Store app licence and the law allow.
Governing law
Spanish and European Union law apply. If you are a consumer, you may bring a claim before the courts of your place of residence.
Changes to these terms
If they change, this page and the date above will be updated. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new version.
